Ireland
Amhrán na bhFiann
Sinne Fianna Fáil,
Atá faoi gheall ag Éirinn,
Buíon dár slua
Thar toinn do ráinig chugainn,
Faoi mhóid bheith saor,
Seantír ár sinsear feasta,
Ní fhágfar faoin tíorán ná faoin tráill.
Anocht a théim sa bhearna baoil,
Le gean ar Ghaeil,
Chun báis nó saoil,
Le guna screach faoi lámhach na bpiléar,
Seo libh canaig’ amhrán na bhFiann!

English Translation
The Soldier’s Song
We are the soldiers of Ireland,
Bound together for our homeland,
A band of warriors
Come from beyond the seas,
Pledged to be free,
The ancient land of our ancestors forever,
Never again to be ruled by tyrant or slave.
Tonight we stand in the gap of danger,
With love for Ireland,
Facing death or life,
Amid the roar of guns and the crash of bullets,
Here we sing the song of the soldiers.
